Endodontics (Canal Treatment)

Endodontics is a treatment method known as root canal treatment. Endodontic treatment is applied to the patient's tooth due to tooth decay or infection of the tooth. The benefits of endodontics are to eliminate most of the problems that cause tooth extraction and to save the tooth. Endodontics, which is one of the most important treatment methods, is applied in a simple way. First of all, we need to explain to patients who want to have endodontic treatment why this treatment is necessary.
As a structure, the tooth has 3 layers. One of these layers is located in the root canal inside the pulp tooth. The part called pulp is a soft structure equipped with blood vessels and nerves to nourish the tooth. In the past, if an infection occurred in the tooth and this infection went down to the pulp layer, the tooth had to be extracted. However, today, with the developing technology and treatment methods, the infection in the tooth can be cleaned and restored.
Endodontic treatment
After the dental examination of the patient who wants to have endodontic treatment, the treatment process may take an average of 1 or 2 sessions. If the damage to the patient's tooth is too much, endodontics can be applied in 3 sessions. A dentist or endodontist who is an expert in the field of endodontic treatment is considered as the procedure that he can do. Dentists working in our organization are experienced and very reliable people. The dentist who will apply endodontic treatment should have knowledge and experience about the dental nerve.
First of all, if the endodontic treatment, which we call root canal treatment, is foreseen to be applied to the patient, a dental x-ray will be required. The purpose of the X-ray is to show the root canal how it is and whether there is any infection in the jawbone. As a result of the x-ray, our dentist will first apply local anesthesia to numb the area around your tooth to start the endodontic treatment.
After Endodontic Treatment
It is natural for the patient to feel tenderness or pain for 1 or 2 days after endodontic treatment. Since our dentists apply local anesthesia before starting the treatment, the feeling of pain is minimized.
It is useful to try not to use the applied tooth area after the treatment and to reduce the consumption of excessive cold and hot in order to avoid pain.
